What data formats do you accept at Zipitz?

Excel (xls), CSV, DBF or Text (txt) are the usual formats for mailing lists and are fixed field length.

What form should I send my documents in?

Letters for printing mail merge are preferred in a Word format. That may be necessary to make the merged data fit as required. Documents can be sent as a PDF, but will be locked for editing.

What class should I use for my mailing project?

Choose the mailing class best suited for the content, size and delivery time you need for your mailing piece. Post cards are mailed First Class as long as they fall within the size requirements. All statements, bills, personal correspondence or offers, etc. are required to be mailed First Class. Standard Class is used mainly for business mail advertising, including: circulars, pamphlets, catalogs, and newsletters. First Class mail delivers in 1 – 3 days; Standard Class delivery can be delayed by the post office up to 10 days. There is a significant difference in postage rates between First and Standard class.

How many addresses must I have to do a mailing?

A postage discounted Presorted First Class mailing requires a minimum of 500 pieces in the mailing, while a Presorted Standard Class mailing requires a minimum of 200 pieces. Mailings under these quantities can be sent at First Class full rate postage.

What is a Post Card size piece?

A true Post Card sized piece is: Length: min 5” / max 6”, Height: min 3-1/2” / max 4-1/4”. Post cards are mailed at First Class postage rates. Any cards larger than these measurements are considered letter sized Self-Mailers and can be sent at Standard Class postage rates.

Do I need a permit?

No. Postage is paid via stamps, meter or a permit. Zipitz has permits to mail both First Class and Standard Class at most local post offices. Clients can use Zipitz permit at no additional charge by paying the postage.

What is discounted postage?

The USPS allows mailers to pay less than the full postage rate for a mailing by having it sorted according to USPS requirements. Presorting a mailing entails grouping mail by Zip code sequentially, from the lowest level to the highest, to each destination specific to the class. The postage discounts are determined by the quantity of pieces with the same 5 digit zip codes or 3 digit zip codes.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express as well as cash and checks. Payments for postage and fees are due prior to mailing.
